Taste Swansea's Food and Drink Digest #10 (Feb 17th 2016)

After our recent Valentine's Day special post, we return with our fortnightly Food n' Drink Digest!

This week we look at two pop-up kitchens in Swansea, some wonderful Welsh dining and a couple of upcoming local produce markets.

And make sure to check out the fourth issue of Taste Swansea magazine while you are here - it's the best one yet!

The cosy Cafe TwoCann

The SA1 favourite, Cafe TwoCann, are arranging a very special evening of Welsh food and drink next Thursday (25 Feb) in the cosy J-Shed restaurant. The evening begins with a taste of various spirits from the famous Penderyn Distillery, before a delicious Wales-inspired four course menu, paired with wines from Cheers Wine Merchants. The evening costs £39.50 per person and, of course, booking is essential. Check out the menu for all the deliciousness!

Next Thursday (25 Feb), following a very successful maiden pop-up late last year, the luxury dining hotel Fairyhill will host another delicious event in conjunction with Babitas Spice Deli. Check out the full menu for the evening of authentic Indian fine dining, and make sure you book in advance! Tickets are £40 per person and worth every penny.

Eating Welsh dishes to the sound of a male voice choir and Max Boyce? It doesn't get much more Welsh than that! And the excellent chefs at Swansea's Marriott hotel will be whipping up a delicious three-course Welsh menu (exact menu to be confirmed) for the special St David's Day lunch at the hotel on Tuesday, 1 March. Iechyd da!

A spicy taste of southern India

The next Malabar Aaanaa pop-up kitchen at Noah's Yard, Uplands, takes place next Wednesday (24 Feb). The popular evening features a special Goan Thali. Keep an eye on their website for menu updates. Delicious!

We have a couple of popular local produce markets returning in and around Swansea over the next week or so - and thankfully the weather is much better than it has been in months (hope that's not jinxed anything...). This coming Saturday (20 Feb) we have both the Penclawdd Local Produce Market and the Pontyates Local Produce Market (in Pontyates Welfare Hall). The following week, on Saturday 27 February, sees the return of the Uplands Market to its usual spot in Gwydr Square.

Remember, it is free to feature on this blog. Just send us info of your upcoming events and we will do our best to include them in the next installment.
